Woman, Young Son Escape

Woman, Young Son Escape
House Fire

HUMBLE, Texas - The sound of a window glass shattering awakens an Humble homeowner, but it was not a burglary attempt that caused the broken glass, but a fire.

The woman who owned the home at the intersection of Killdeer Lane and Roadrunner Lane escaped from the burning home along with her 4-year-old son.

Humble firefighters arrived to the house first but later contacted the Eastex Freeway Volunteer Fire Department and the Houston Fire Department for assistance.

The fire not only destroyed the home, but also caused damage to the woman's car parked in front of the garage.

The homeowner had lived in the home for almost 20 years and raised both the young boy and an older son in the house.

The Humble Fire Department and arson investigators are trying to determine what cause the fire.
